Saturday Morning
For a reason I have yet to discover, I have found myself completely without any ideas for writing for a number of days. I have basically been trying to manufacture what has not been there.
Basically, I have been sick for the past week and a half, trying to fight off a respiratory infection. This has not been a picnic, especially since I refused to take any time off from work and I basically had to fight it off while teaching. I am feeling much better, oh the wonderful joy, joys of antibiotics and decongestants.
Anyway, this has definitely been something that has been going around. I think that our screwy weather has had something to do with people getting sick. Warm one day, cold the next, warm again. The body has no time to acclimate to it.
Oh well, since I don't expect to be able to control the weather any time soon I better just learn to live with it and stop complaining. Complaining doesn't do anybody any good, although sometimes it does allow one to vent their frustrations and maybe get others thinking.
Speaking of which, I have a frustration, why do people think it is okay to skip out on supporting their own children? As a teacher I see this every stinking day: children whose parents can go out and spend butt loads of money on crap and don't see any reason to pony up and pay their child support. Or if they do, they pay the bare minimum...they send a few dollars a week, in order to avoid jail or other such penalties. I don't get it, I see kids who have to get their coats from charities. Custodial parents who have to go get state aid, because the non-custodial parent won't provide for the children they helped produce. It just pisses me off.
Okay, I'll stop ranting
